Department Managing Engineer
Oklahoma
Department Managing Engineer is responsible for the planning , directing
and coordinates the activities of engineering department to design,
integrate, analyze, manufacture, test and certify aircraft components,
products, and systems.
-Works within established organizational objectives.
Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through experienced
exempt and nonexempt staff.
-Performs typical responsibilities of a manager
requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work
is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives.
-Develops and provides leadership to institutionalize the processes of
Continuous Quality Improvement in accordance with organizational goals and
objectives.
-Provides guidance to teams on development, performance and
productivity issues.
-Develops initial design concepts to support new product
development, customer needs and requirements.
-Directs department activities
in designing new products, modifying existing designs, improving
production
techniques, and developing test procedures.
-Analyzes technology trends,
human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
-Coordinates with Manufacturing/Marketing/ Contracts /Quality Assurance
to ensure required engineering documentation is established and maintained
-Confers with management, production, and marketing staff
to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness/ customer
demand for new and existing products
-Creates and maintains budget and schedule tracking metrics
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering required,
Master's degree (MA or MS) preferred, or equivalent in
the appropriate discipline
-12 or more years related experience
-at least 4 years in supervision/management
- Employees Directly and Indirectly Supervised up to 20
-Aerospace industry experience required.
-Some travel required.
