Aerospace Materials Engineer

Position is responsible for design and development of power components and modules for the aerospace, medical and telecommunications markets.
The position would be responsible for the component/materials engineering needs of both sites

This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States.

Responsibilities:

Sources, selects, and qualifies materials & components used in the Aerospace and Defense Services Company's business. Investigates alternate component technologies or suppliers, with the intent of reducing cost, improving quality, and improving reliability.
Acts as technical interface between materials/component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources. Develops guidelines/procedures on vendor selection.
Evaluates supplier change notification and qualifies changes, as needed.
May maintain component data management system including qualification records/results/documentation.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Familiar with the use of common test equipment and able to supervise/conduct the evaluation of components

Requires an Engineering or Science degree, preferably a Masters.
