Aerospace Research Engineer

 

Position is for a full-time Research Engineer. The position involves administration and execution of aerodynamic sponsored research and management of the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory.


Basic Duties include :

*Conducting research in applied aerodynamics and , low- and high-speed experimental aerodynamics;
*Assisting with proposals for new and continuing research projects and writing reports and papers based on the research;
*Maintaining contact with program sponsors including site visits, and potentially some off-site research;
*Keeping track of entire experimental operations including oversight of lab equipment;
*Managing the Aerodynamics Research Laboratory and advising, guiding, and providing technical expertise to graduate students working in applied and experimental aerodynamics

*Masters degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and experience in experimental aerodynamics research is required and Ph.D. is preferred. Excellent oral and writing skills, research management skills, and team leadorship / mentoring skills.

Minimum Education: Master's Degree
