Description: Plant Manager
Direct manufacture of a variety of chemicals and/or intermediate products.
Ensures optimum production levels of a quality product as required by the
customer in a safe and
environmentally sound manner. Position requires effective communication and
coordination with Quality Control, Purchasing, Maintenance, Production
Planning, Logistics, sales & Marketing, and EH&S Departments.
Ensures all operations under supervision are operated in a safe manner.
Approve new and revised product specifications and develop
manufacturing plans for new products with the Marketing, QC, and Technical
Service Departments.
Ensure manufacturing process optimization by enforcing existing
production protocols and where appropriate make revisions.
Coordinate preventative and emergency maintenance work with the Maintenance
Superintendent.
Specify or approve the purchase, installation and operation of new process
equipment.
Qualifications: Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Experience as a Production
Manager or
similar role responsible for manufacturing products in a complex chemical
processing environment.
Computer literate, familiarity with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office.
