Biological Engineering & Technical Initiatives Director
USA-East Coast
POSITION SUMMARY
The position will build/increase membership in the engineering
group/volunteer
organization ,develop and implement new and expand current biological
engineering,
sustainability and energy related products and services in the areas of
meetings,
publications, education, technical projects and industrial alliances. The
overall
aim of this position is to build the engineering group/ volunteer
organization
and new technical initiatives revenue and visibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Develop business plans, manage budgets and administer programs
o Develop and implement fund raising activities in support of the
engineering
group/ volunteer organization in sustainability and energy.
o Work with the volunteer organization groups managing and advisory boards
to generate and implement program concepts.
o Work with staff & committees to expand biological engineering,
sustainability and energy content in meetings & publications and as
appropriate develop & implement new products
o Success in these activities will be measured by the programs /
contribution to existing product lines & the financial viability of new
offerings
o Work on projects as necessary across technical activity product
lines.
o Other projects may be assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
– 12-15 years experience in developing new products and services and
successful implementation.
– BS/MS Technical degree in chemical/biological engineering or another
science or engineering discipline; MBA or equivalent training is
preferred.
– Broad knowledge of chemical engineering and the bio-processing, biomedical
and bio-molecular fields.
– Experience in working within a matrix organization, societys , institutes
for
engineering, networking and proven skills at leading teams
– Excellent understanding or experience of the workings of volunteer
organizations
– Experience in grant writing and development activity preferred.
– Very strong communication & interpersonal skills; must be
self-starter.
– Knowledge of computers and information technology.
