Description: Senior Environmental Engineer Texas, Houston Manage assigned environmental medias. Prepare and submitting accurate reports and notices on time and communicating regulatory and permit requirements to plant personnel with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the following: - Federal EPA regulations for solid/hazardous waste and water/wastewater permits and reporting requirements. - State of Texas air, water and solid waste regulations and permit conditions and reporting requirements. - Regulations and reporting requirements - Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, state and local codes and requirements. Provide information and training to plant management and plant personnel with the goal of providing the tools and knowledge needed by plant personnel to meet their environmentally related job responsibilities. This will be accomplished through training presentations during plant training days, appropriate Computer Based Training (CBT) and training mine, and provide plant projects with environmental review and guidance (e.g., Management of Change, Capital Appropriation Requests, Standard Operating Procedures) Provides back-up for the HES Manager. Communicate to and foster a productive working relationship with appropriate regulatory agencies. Provide leadership regarding environmental issues, stay abreast of current local, state, and federal political pressures that could affect the plant(s).
Qualifications: 10+ Years experience. B.S. in Engineering or related field, for understanding environmental regulations, standards, evaluating contractor capabilities to respond to plant environmental needs, and to be able to recommend facility changes in a timely fashion. Working knowledge of Federal/State/Local environmental laws and regulations in all medias and the ability to effectively communicate to plant staff/personnel. In-depth knowledge and experience with a major compliance or technical environmental control area in at least one media (air, water, and/or waste). Business/plant/process understanding to evaluate impact of applicable and changing regulations
