Description: Senior Fire Safety Officer
Singapore
The Senior Fire Officer is responsible for application procedures, submission processes and enforcement matters relating to fire safety
and is responsible for advising on fire safety codes and practices;
Reporting to the Chief Fire Officer, the Senior Fire Officer’s responsibilities also include:-
Handling personnel administration and ensuring that the team is trained and familiar with their respective duties;
Taking full charge of the fire brigade at the fire site/emergency site and executing the duties of the Duty officer;
Deputizes for the Chief Fire Officer in his absence;
Planning inspection, maintenance and testing schedules for all brigade firefighting equipment;
Performing wet test of fixed fire protection systems on tankers, LPG Sphere, wharves, hoarding and filling stations, pumps and manifolds;
Effecting repairs to faulty equipment when necessary;
Keeping abreast of firefighting tactics and coaching of the team;
Preparing the necessary administration for new equipment or replacements respectively;
Reporting / Intervening when any unsafe behaviour or unsafe operating conditions are observed while working in the plant.
Qualifications: Requirements:
At least 8 years experience as a fire officer;
Possess either a university degree or polytechnic diploma in any technical discipline;
A good level of physical fitness is necessary;
Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence;
The successful candidate will be required to work on rotating shifts;
