Sr Development Chemist

Basic Position Responsibilities:
Evaluate the alkylation content/composition in petro-chemical technologies
Detail company's alkylation technology in
customer meetings, company sponsored seminars, and industry trade
groups. Support improvement of company's understanding and knowledge
base for the fundamentals of alkylation technology. Lead technology
development
teams to improve the safety and energy efficiency of alkylation technology.
Support sales projects with in-depth technical assistance on an as needed
basis to both internal and external customers. Learn yield estimating
protocols
and become functional to execute yield estimates for commercial work.
Development and utilization of tools to streamline work processes. Author
papers, patents and items that advance company's overall technology.
Manage external contract research projects.
Qualifications: Basic Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor/Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering.
-At least 6 years experience with either HF or sulfuric acid alkylation
technology. This experience may be through Engineering, Development,
Operations, or Technical Service roles.
-12 years minimum of related refining or petrochemical industry experience
is required.
-Ability to travel to customer sites (both domestic and international)20%
-Demonstrated skills in project management are required as the position will
be leading technology integration and development teams.
-Strong mechanical aptitude/ communication and interpersonal skills/
capability to
work effectively with several departments.
-Willing to conduct public speaking engagements as a company
expert/spokesperson
and present company's technology advances to experts in the industry.
-Post-graduate studies in chemical engineering would be beneficial to the
position.
- Experience with Fluid Catalytic Cracking is desirable, but not required.
