Description: Principal Civil Structural Engineer Location: UK Salary: Negotiable Prepare and check engineering procedures, specifications and standards. Able to design in steel, concrete and/or undergrounds. Provide technical consultancy. Prepare and check the basis of design, specifications, data sheets, requisitions, technical bid evaluations and drawings. Provide assistance with the recruitment of personnel (interview and selection). Check and review vendor/subcontractor proposals, documentations and drawings. Act as Lead Engineer on Projects and Proposals Lead or participate in project, client, vendor and subcontractor meetings. Provide input to proposals. Prepare and check man-hour and material cost estimates. Provide Input to Construction Sub Contract, evaluate bids and supervise contractor. Act as a mentor to other employees. Execute other engineering activities specific to the CSA technical area such as development of material Requisitions and PO\\'s and input to discipline procedure development initiatives. Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of civil, structural, underground and architectural design and engineering, as applicable in the process and power industries. Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, piling, soil improvement and site preparation. Knowledge or seismic design techniques and awareness of dynamic analysis of foundations for rotating/reciprocating machinery. Must be familiar with European, American and International standards applicable to petrochemical industry (as relevant to the CSA discipline).
Qualifications: Degree of HNC with extensive experience Member of an appropriate engineering institution (ICE or IStructE) Chartered Engineer preferred, unless candidate has extensive relevant experience Other Qualifications: Safety Training Experience: Minimum of 20 years experience in petrochemical and related industries Previous experience as Lead Engineer on a major project. Alternatively extensive experience and superior expertise in a specialized subject or related industry Must be computer literate with a range of office automation (OA) applications and preferably with experience of Staad Pro and GT Strudl. Working knowledge of Microstation and Frameworks. Management and supervisory skills. Able to review, interpret and work in accordance with standards and procedures
