Description: Carpenter responsible for construction, installation and repair of structures and fixtures. Carpenter selects and orders lumber and other construction materials as necessary. Carpenter must have a strong ability to visualize how things will look when completed and able to convey such. Carpenter uses hand tools and power tools and the carpenter is expected to apply a wide range of techniques and operations of carpentry. The carpenter shall follow all construction safety policies and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
Shape or cut materials to measurement using hand tools, machines or power saw. Liaise with other trades to handle areas such as heating and electrical wiring work. Verify trueness of work using plumb bob and level and inspect to detect broken or damaged structures. Study blueprint specifications, sketches and building plans to prepare project layouts and calculate dimensions and materials required. May be expected to work with and/or remove hazardous material.
Qualifications: Minimum GED or High School Diploma.
6+ years Journeyman level commercial services work including: Commercial, Schools, Institutions, Manufacturing, Healthcare/Scientific.
Experienced in Framing, Metal Studs, Acoustical Ceilings, Drywall hanging, FRP, Doors & Hardware, Base board and Chair Rail trim.
2+ years experience with Clean Room Installations.
Experience with Large Acoustical Installations.
Acoustical mechanic with strong knowledge of acoustical ceiling design and layout.
New installations, replace and retrofit works.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Must be a 10 hour OSHA certified craftsman holding a valid drivers license.
