Senior Research Chemist-Thin Films
Silicon Valley, CA
***The position is Senior and should be a Postdoctoral (but not
required)****
The position will perform his/her work in the area of high sensitivity
surface plasmon resonance for analyte detection and moinitering of
layer-by-layer nanostructure construction from discrete building blocks
including nanoparticles. Porous thin films will play a key role in this
project
so candidate should be familar with the characterization of surface
functionalization and characterization ,fluorescent probe incorporation
and analysis etc.Some experience with biological materials and techniques
would be helpful. Experience generating shape persistent cavities by
imprinting would also be highly desiranleThis role generates highly novel
ideas (theoretical or experimental) in a specific engineering or scientific
discipline and/or invents/designs complex products and/or processes.
May be involved in engineering these ideas to an advanced state of
feasibility
by evaluating ideas and plans and participating in their implementation.
The full cycle of innovation to delivery is typically a multiple-year
effort.
Disseminates, internally and externally, the results of such activities
through
publications, patent disclosures, seminar participation, internal
documentation,
etc. Represents the company at c-level professional meetings, in
professional
societies and universities. Functions as an internal consultant in the areas
of his/her professional expertise
Qualifications: Basic Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree , relevant
-4 Years experience, relevant
-Basic knowledge in Chemistry and/or Engineering
-Basic knowledge of the English Language with ability to communicate,
speak, and write reports effectively.
Desired/Preferred Requirements:
Doctorate Degree
At least 6 years experience in Chemistry and/or Engineering/Research
work, particularly with:
--Analysis using characterization of surface functionalization and
characterization
fluorescent probe incorporation
--Environments of high sensitivity surface plasmon resonance
--Analyte detection and monitering
--Analysis of nanostructures
--Familiarity working with porous thin films
--Public Speaking & presentaions to large professional groups
