Sr CPA of Energy Products Division
New York, NY
Sr CPA of Energy Products Division functions within the Energy Product
Control team supporting the commodity derivatives business. It encompasses
P&L reporting and P&L valuation Analysis, Price Verification, Reserves &
Accounting Adjustments, Structured Product Trade Review, Trading Support &
Control function. It requires strong understanding of derivatives
and the ability to perform necessary analysis of energy products to support
the various functions. This role will require coordinating with all aspects
of the front to back trade execution and processing groups.
Responsibilities:
Fully understand the energy products. It entails a strong understanding of
derivatives, its valuation and pricing to analyze, explain and validate P/L
according to market moves, new trades and other influences.
Fully understand the scope of energy product control function, systems and
processes. These responsibilities require a thorough understanding of the
operations, front office and financial control departments. Prepare detailed
structured trade reviews on complex products. These trades are
model-intensive
and complex in nature with a variety of modeling, structuring, valuation &
risk reporting aspects to review and verify. Take ownership of any issues
that arise from the day to day and monthly processes and resolving in
an efficient and timely manner. Prepare Daily, Weekly and Monthly commentary
of multiple trading books assigned. Understand and apply Sub Ledger
& Accounting processes in order to perform detailed analysis and
reconciliations
across multiple energy projects. This pertains to all P/L activity such as,
valuation
of positions, cash balances, funding, & provisions.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications
BS/MS Degree Relevant
10-12 yrs work experience with strong knowledge of derivatives to perform
P&L
valuation and Analysis.
Minimum GPA of 3.5 in Mathematics, Business, Engineering, Accounting, or
Finance.
CPA with energy exposure is highly preferred.
Excellent understanding of the energy markets pricing to perform market data
review.
Proven ability to understand the math involved in the valuation and pricing
of products.
Familiarity with accounting concepts and use of accounting (SubGL, GL)
systems
Ability to multi-task in a complex environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent team player

Existing Product Control work experience at a major investment bank.
Proficient in the use of OpenLink Endur
Strong understanding of Energy derivative products
Cross Product Experience such as other financial derivatives
Peoplesoft Financials
Knowledge of Structured energy products
Financial and Management Accounting
Experience with system implementations
