Sr. Project Manager - Automation Controls

Basic Responsibilities
Succesful candidate for the Sr. Project Manager-Automation Controls
position will have a background in either heavy oil upgrading, oil & gas
refinery, or Petro-Chemical Industry and will have the responsibility to
lead a silo project team that implements customized complex and/or
standard engineering solutions, usually representing large projects,
to successful completion and within budgeted time and cost constraints.
Ensures that required prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools,
documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget) are in place prior to
commencing work / Produces part(s) of total functional design
specifications.
Produces technical design specifications / Executes work assignment to
appropriate standards and quality systems (implementation, test and
documentation) / Coaches and supports assigned engineer(s) to
ensure they are able to meet the requirements of their work assignments
Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan
Effectively communicates with customers to fully define and agree project
requirements Proactively recommends potential quality and efficiency
improvements within the engineering group / Shares technical knowledge
with project team, supervisor, own discipline and other engineering
disciplines
Reports progress and technical problems to project and engineering
supervisor Analyze the designs of vendors providing specific equipment
Work with other engineering specialists on the project
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements & Qualifications :
BS in Engineering, degree relevant
18 or more years of hands on experience in Heavy oil upgrading, oil & gas
refinery, or Petro-Chemical Industry.
17 years of hands on experience in Automation Controls Systems: TPS
system, Delta V or Emerson / Yokogawa DCS
12 years experience and knowledge of industrial and computer networks.
7 years of process knowledge in the refining, petrochemical and chemical
processes.
Travel 25%
Experience is related to :
-knowledge of engineering procedures and quality assurance
-Demonstrated people skills to handle difficult situations, leadership
skills
to coordinate an manage discipline engineering teams.
-Strong interpersonal skills and customer relations skills essential.
-Strong analytical and writing skills (in English) are essential.
-High level of attention to detail, accuracy and team working essential.
-Should be able to interact with the customer to determine business
requirements and design solution accordingly, based on the project
standards.
-Experience with P&IDs, Control Narratives, and C&E (Cause and Effects)
