Description: Sr. Project Development Engineer (Control)
Ohio
•Develops and leads development projects
•Contribute to and directs the development of new product opportunities for
the company
•Frequently directs and monitors the project work of 3 professional
associates.
•Contributes to the establishment of technical staff development and
operational goals.
•Contributes to or plans projects, determines technical objectives and
applies advanced theories and concepts in an engineering or scientific
specialty.
•Develops solutions to complex problems analyzes data, provides technical
interpretation and recommendations and contributes to and directs the
documentation of results.
•Represents Engineering in technical meetings with company departments and
others outside of the company
•Works independently with General Management direction
•Responsible for developing an adhering to project schedules.
•Initiates and carries out appropriate self-development efforts.
•Assists Management in training and guiding less experienced associates and
in evaluating technical performance and development needs.
Qualifications: Basic Minimum Requirements
•Master's of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
•Minimum 10 years experience in applying advanced control theory to dynamic
systems.
•Knowledge of classical and modern control theory:
oClosed-loop control
oPID control and tuning closed loop dynamics
oTransfer functions
oTime-domain state space representation
oStability
oControllability and observability
oControl specifications
oModel identification and robustness
•Experience with the following:
oLinear and Nonlinear systems control
oMultivariable system analysis and design
oNumerical technique of finite element method or finite element analysis.
•Experience with different control strategies such as:
oAdaptive control
oHierarchical control
oIntelligent control / fuzzy logic
oOptimal control
oRobust control
oStochastic control
•Experience with simulating systems using Matlab/Simulink and C/C.
•Experience with modeling various systems such as:
oElectrical systems
oMechanical systems
oElectromechanical systems
•Experience with Real Time Controls
oUsing PC's and microcontrollers
oProgramming using C/C
oAnalog and digital control
