Sr Biologist
Davis, CA
Primary responsibilities will include:
Wildlife planning, coordination, and management of specific wildlife and
other
related terrestrial resource projects. Management and supervision of
junior staff and logistics planning. Resource data compilation, statistical
analysis, and data interpretation. Preparation of FERC licensing
documents, environmental impact assessments, technical reports, and
study proposals. Client briefings, resource agency consultation, and
participation in public meetings.
Qualifications:
Basic Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
A Master's Degree (B.S. with extensive experience will also qualify) in
wildlife biology, zoology, ecology, environmental science, or closely
related field.
Professional experience in the design and implementation of wildlife and
related studies such as wildlife inventory surveys; dedicated surveys for
rare, threatened, and endangered animals, plants, and natural communities;
habitat assessments for wildlife; and wildlife and botanical population
studies.
Demonstrated ability to work with project teams, private clients,
governmental agencies, and non-governmental stakeholder groups.
Strong technical writing and oral communication skills; basic computer
skills (Microsoft Office products); and some experience with computer
modeling, GIS, or statistical software.
Must be willing to travel periodically
The preferred applicant will have:
Familiarity with federal regulatory programs such as FERC hydro relicensing,
NEPA, ESA, and California/local environmental regulations
Experience in the hydropower industry
Prior experience as a consultant, especially in California and the western
U.S.
