BiLingual-Senior E,H & S Project Manager
Latin America
The BiLingual-Senior E,H & S Project Manager is part of an environmental,
social and health impact assessment (ESHIA) or environmental, health &
safety
(EHS) department. Candidates with demonstrated leadership attributes & the
desire and ability to lead staff, interact with clients and regulators, and
support
growth in Latin America.
The BiLingual-Senior E,H & S Project Manager must have the ability
to lead (technical, financial and client responsibilities) high profile
ESHIA programs and provide oversight and management of multiple concurrent,
complex projects in the extractives (oil and gas and mining) in Latin
America.
Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
-Be willing to relocate to Latin America
-MS in Environmental Science/Engineering, Planning or similar field
required.
-Highly-developed verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and
English to be able to conduct business in both languages and engage
external
audiences in both languages.
-Proven experience managing ESHIAs for large Oil and Gas (O&G) projects
or programs (i.e. multiple concurrent ESHIAs) within financial and
timescale
constraints.
-Demonstrated experience in Peru or other parts of Latin America where
projects are being developed in environmentally and socially sensitive
regions.
-Expert knowledge and technical experience related to high profile ESHIAs,
including compliance with international standards (e.g. IFC Performance
Standards and Equator Principles).
-Proven ability to respond to and engage clients during project execution
and
business development; and preferably a key relationship holder for clients
in the extractives sector ( o & g or mining)
-Ability to provide technical level advice and guidance to clients,
independently and with limited senior management support or direction.
-Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary teams within one office
and
across other locations; and, strong aptitude for coaching, training,
leading
and building capacity of more junior and less experienced staff.
-Proven experience managing the financial components of large projects,
including establishing and tracking budgets; development of subcontractor
agreements and generally assuring compliance with financial project
constraints.
-Willingness to take on challenges and find unique solutions that can
save time, money or increase efficiency for the company and the clients.
-Capable to operate comfortably at both the tactical as well as the
strategic
levels and know when one or the other is appropriate.
-Must be sensitive to the needs and requirements of clients, other company
offices, government institutions, and be able to work closely with a wide
variety of people and teams
