Description: Accounting Manager (Family Office)

The Accounting Manager will play an integral role in establishing
and growing the Family Office and will be involved in providing personal
financial services to Managing Directors.
Responsibilities will include:
§ cash management: preparing monthly cash flow projections,
including estimating sources and uses, and executing necessary rollovers,
liquidations, etc.;
§ maintaining and coordinating the implementation of accounting
control procedures;
§ reviewing weekly payables batches for proper account coding,
period, amount, approval, and vendor, and verifying that the correct bank
account has been chosen for check printing;
§ reconciling all bank accounts monthly;
§ reviewing the completeness of all credit card transactions
recorded in the general ledger;
§ recording investment activity from broker statements and preparing
investment performance summaries;
§ preparing monthly closing journal entries in order to produce
monthly balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows;
§ preparing annual budgets and assisting with monthly variance
analysis;
§ performing internal review of valuation of collectibles for proper
presentation in financials;
§ managing and maintaining all contracts, leases, and insurance
files;
§ assisting with tax preparation;
§ analyzing all general ledger activity in an effort to cut costs;
and
§ special projects.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess:
§ 3+ years accounting experience (at least one in a senior
accountant role with a full cycle of closing experience);
§ knowledge of finance, including measures of portfolio performance;
§ knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles;
§ the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial
reports, statements, and projections; and
§ excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
Family office experience is preferred.
