Marketing Research Executive
Orlando, FL
Position will join a professional services firm. This firm is a leading consultant to companies on the acquisition of products and capabilities from smaller entrepreneurial companies. The work is detailed and the research requires accurate record keeping, notes, catalogging of photographs taken on research projects, and excellent written & verbal communication skills.The successful candidate will be highly experienced in market research or competitive intelligence professional to lead local based research efforts.
The position will be responsible for:
• Quickly developing knowledge of a particular industry, product category, and consumer profile
• Gathering primary on premise market research at various locations throughout the area noting product trends and documenting findings
• Conveying findings & insights to the local team via email
• Creating Powerpoint presentations of acquired knowledge and company profiles
The basic duties of the position will be:
• Assess the competitive landscape through a combination of primary and secondary research of a target industry or product category. Summarize and distill findings and insights into a succinct executive brief.
• Identify potential areas where desired psychographic and demographic market segments congregate
• Take photos and gather intelligence on products being consumed at various locations
• Research and create company profile templates including descriptions of business, products, financials, patents, and relevant news.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements, Education, Experience & Skills:
• Ability to synthesize and interpret information from disparate sources, identify trends, associations, and
cause and effect relationships.
• Understanding of psychographic segmentation – ability to identify areas in Orlando where people of certain
interests, lifestyles, and affinities gather.
• Superior written communication skills: conveys information in succinct easy to comprehend fashion
• Expert level proficiency in Powerpoint , must be able to manage the presentation from creation to finished document
while adhering to established style guide.
• Must be able to take digital photos and perform basic photo editing
• Candidate must own or have access to a vehicle and a digital camera
• 5+ years experience performing primary and secondary market research
• Prior experience with psychographic segmentation would be a plus
• Prior research project management experience, required
• Prior experience in market landscaping and/or performing competitive intelligence projects, equired
• Bachelors Degree, Marketing, or MBA with Marketing concentration
