Marketing Analyst
Essential Responsibilities for Marketing Analyst Include:
-Create and coordinate weekly and daily select seasonal direct marketing activity reports.
-Extract and input data from multiple internal and external data sources and generate key metrics
for program performance.
-Provide analytical perspective on results, identify trends and share recommendations.
-Maintain a workflow project planning calendar of promotions and events in order to anticipate
reporting needs
-Maintain system of assigning and tracking coupon codes for accurate reporting; ensure that
codes are executed correctly with counterparts in technology, store operations and creative.
-Work with technology team to identify and resolve reporting issues
-Create ad hoc reports to measure additional marketing activity as required and develop store
allocation plans for selected in store marketing materials.
-Access customer database to update customer information, produce monthly database activity
report and generate customer lists for marketing activity such as customer e-mail blasts and
direct mail campaigns
-Collaborate with marketing, merchandise planning, store operations, and technology teams
as needed on cross-functional projects
-Work with Senior Director of CRM to understand marketing program objectives and advise
best program structure, testing strategies, and analysis method for performance measurement
-Analyze customer response to marketing programs with focus on sales, incremental sales
and profitability. Translate data into key findings and actionable recommendations for future
strategy.
-Generate high-level seasonal summaries of key marketing programs visualized in presentation
format
-Track customer segment performance including customer attrition, migration and growth
-Partner with database management team to monitor customer database health
-Develop standardized automated reporting
Minimum Qualifications Required or Better:
-Bachelors Degree with an emphasis on marketing, applied mathematics, business, or related field.
-Minimum of 8 years of analytical experience in marketing /customer database analytics such
as: analytic segmentation, direct marketing test design, response analysis, measurement strategy
development, ROI analysis, modeling, web analysis, etc
-Sincere interest in using, multiple technologies to achieve analytic objectives
-Expert in using MS Excel, MS Access, and/or other database-driven software to perform complex analysis and reporting
-Experience using SAS or other statistical analysis tool for analysis and modeling is also highly desirable
-Experience writing SQL queries, using Crystal Reports and other relational database reporting & analysis tools is
required
-Ideally the successful candidate takes pleasure in the formulating hypotheses, gathering results, analyzing data, and
making appropriate recommendations for change
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Excellent record of interpersonal skills
-Must be detail-oriented, highly accurate and possess excellent problem-solving skills
-Must be able to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
-Focused on delivering results on/in advance of deadlines
-Familiarity with a retail marketing environment, required
-Ability to work in primarily self-directed environment, while supervised by the Senior Director
