General Description
Position joins a marketing analytics consultancy group whose position is to
help clients maximize the value from their sales & marketing spending by
applying the latest analytical and research techniques. The position will be
an experienced candidate to lead a consultant company's retail analytics
service offerings for China Business'. The position will be based in Hong
Kong, however, extensive travel is required throughout the region, at about
40% per year. The Retail Analyst Consultant offers the emplyore's services
to the client that include: customer segmentation, store clustering,
assortment optimization, pricing strategy and analytics, promotion
effectiveness, trade promotion management. Candidates for this position
are expected to have deep experience in this range of services within the
retail industry.
Basic responsibilities:
The candidate's main responsibility for this role will be to lead and grow
the employer's consultant business in retail analytics business for Greater
China. The basic services will include:
Conducting business development and growing the business in the Greater
China region
Building and managing an appropriate junior support team
Leading and supporting the delivery of client projects
Contributing to the knowledge and service offering growth for the region
Types of retail analytics project that are expected to be sold and supported
by the candidate are:
Merchandising optimization (category macro and micro space assortment)
Store clustering and customer segmentation
Pricing strategy and analytics
Promotional effectiveness and analytics
Relevant experience in these content/.functional areas is therefore
required.
Qualifications: Minimum Education, Skills & Experience Qualifications:
Candidates for this position have a strong retail industry and/or business
consulting background. Candidates have solid marketing and retail
analytical experience, as well as extensive retail industry experience
preferably in the Greater China region (either through an industry position
or from a services/ consulting perspective).
The following experience is required for this role:
Bachelors /4-Year University Degree from reputable institution
Minimum 10 years retail industry or relevant consulting experience within
the retail industry
Fluency in both Mandarin and English
Practical and professional experience in applied analytics within retail,
marketing or sales
Extensive leadership and project management experience
Extensive industry experience and contacts in the Greater China Area
Excellent communications skills (including written and spoken English and
Mandarin)
Willingness to travel extensively (within Asia Pacific)
Additional Desirable Experience:
Practical and professional experience in applied customer analytics,
statistics and econometrics, and practical experience with data analysis
tools such as SAS, SPSS, KXEN.etc.
Excellent knowledge or implementation experience with popular merchandising
management systems such as Retek/Oracle, JDA, DemandTek, khi Metrics, SAP,
KSS.etc...
