General Company Description
The position will join a car manufacturing company that designs,
manufacturers advanced
alternattive fuel vehicles and a sells quality, high-performance; highly
efficient sports cars.
As part of the presidents economic plan for the future, manufacturing
alternative fuel sports
automobiles, the company is enjoying the benefits of government support ,
other funding
& legislation and an exciting, enthusiastic interest from the consumer to
become
accountable for the type of vehicle that they own & drive. Not only can this
car
manufacturer offer a more efficient method of transportation without relying
on
foreign oil they have successfully been able to combine style, acceleration,
and
handling with advanced technologies that make them among the quickest and
the most energy-efficient cars on the the American Road and soon on the
International
Highways as well. The consumer is gladly and willingly purchasing these
vehicles for a
6 figure price tag and the company is barely able to keep up with the
demand. In
light of this the company is under expansion and has asked that we assist
in the
recruitment of talented & experienced people to join their company.
Basic Job Responsibilities :
a.. Development of a variety of low volume manufacturing equipment, fixtures
and tooling
b.. New process development, specifically process problem solving and
implementation
c.. Creation of detailed Manufacturing Instructions to support new equipment
and processes
d.. Involvement in the Design Engineering process to help ensure
manufacturability
e.. Management of suppliers during the specification, design, and
implementation of
equipment, fixtures and processes for mass production
f.. Transition of technical products from R&D to production
g.. Performing process analysis including: PFMEA, capacity modeling, process
capability,
quality, process control, and shop floor tracking
h..Working with production to create and implement quality control plans,
workmanship
standards, and training plans
i.. Some overseas travel required
Qualifications: Minimum Job Requirements:
a.. BS/MS ME (or equivalent)
b.. 7 + years experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing/development
engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.
c.. Proficiency designing mechanical equipment, fixturing and
tooling using 3D solid modeling CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
d.. Proficiency creating detailed drawings from solid models for
various fabrication techniques (CNC/Manual Machining, Welding, Sheet
Metal
forming.)
e.. Experience with light automation, motion control (including
pneumatic systems, linear motors, servo/stepper motors, and linear
feedback
systems), PLC programming and simple user interface design.
f.. Experience introducing new products and new processes in a
production environment.
g.. Experience with automotive products desired, but not required
h.. Skills in design for manufacturability and process development
are needed, along with the ability to gather and analyze prototype and
pre-production data.
i.. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the
ability to present data clearly in both formal and informal settings.
