Description:
Development Project Engineer
Madison, WI
Support development of new products and technologies for filtration
' Provide general plastics knowledge and fundamentals to a wide array of
projects and personnel.' Interact with external tool builders and plastic
joining
equipmentsuppliers ' Interact with manufacturing plant, mold builder,
secondary
assembly equipment manufacturer in getting tooling and parts into
production
' Assist in the prototyping and testing of design concepts.' Interact with
customers and suppliers on product development.
' Participate in cross-functional product development teams to put new
designs into production. ' Support sales and costing to get concepts relayed
and quoted to customers. ' Support special projects;
' Participate in cross-functional teams to support cost reduction
programs/projects/implementation. 'Think creatively (outside the box) to
come up with new andunique concepts - 20% Travel for training and to
support internal manufacturing plants
Qualifications: Experience/Education/Skills
B.S. or M.S. Engineering degree ' technical degree preferred but not
required Overall realated experience 12 years minimum.
Technical knowledge of Air & Liquid Filtration, Crankcase Ventilation and
Legacy Products preferred but not required.
Technical knowledge of Design for Assembly, Plastic Component Design,
Injection Mold Tooling Design, Assembly Methods for Plastic Components,
Various Plastic Manufacturing Methods (Thermoplastic Injection Molding
Required ' Blow, Roto, Rubber, Silicon, Thermoset Variations a plus).
Technical knowledge of injection molding process setup for robust molding
and setup up for secondary assembly robustness such as Vibration Welding,
Ultrasonic Welding, Spin Welding, etc are preferred, but not required.
Experience in use of DOE process during this robust setup is beneficial.
Computer Proficiencies in Microsoft Office Suite. Pro-Engineer and
experience with other CAD systems /Train engineers in principles of plastic
part and tool design along withmaterials used in these designs
