Assistant Buyer
Memphis, TN
Essential responsibilities for the Assistant Buyer include:
-Analyze factory production costs and risk profile for order placement using costing under supervision
-Assist Buyer in strategizing order placement for each seasonal line
-Work with Production Manager and Production Coordinator to solve daily production issues
-Work with Art Team to define seasonal line for critical product construction and technique details using Lotus Notes, Excel and Power Point
-Negotiate and place orders of seasonal garment lines with factories in China, India and other countries under supervision of Senior Buyer
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Are:
-Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Management or Textile Management
-8 years experience in the job offered or 6 years as a Production Manager
Requires skills and excellent working knowledge of :
-Costing
-Lotus Notes
-Excel / PowerPoint
-Must be familiar with 2 or more of the following types of software : AIMS, SugarCRM solutions, JOMAR Technical Textile Suite ,Datatex ERP, EDI Information Sys, ImpressTM , etc...
-Prior knowlede and experience in dealing with garment production facilities in China and India
-Travel, 50%,required
-Bilingual is strongly preferred Chinese or Hindi and English
