Sr/ Environmental Scientist/Engineer

Sr/ Environmental Scientist/Engineer works in company's mining
environmental group as part of the team.
The role will require the candidate to provide quality advice and technical
input to various mining related projects. Travel is a requirement of the
role, including client liaison and development of proposals and timely
delivery of programs for clients. As part of a dynamic small team the
candidate will be responsible for project management into varied projects.
The candidate will have strong analytical skills, be able to design and
implement investigations and reporting as well as producing reports.
Discuss projects with colleagues to determine relative priorities and
implications on the work of others. Make recommendations for increased
resources and special equipment. Make commitments on acceptance of
projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet objectives.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Registered or eligible for registration in the Engineers Australia and/or
Environmental Institute, Australia
Graduate degree or MSc in Environmental Engineering or Geochemistry related
qualifications
Current Australian drivers license
20 years experience preferably in mining operations or environmental
consulting
Project Management experience running multi-discipline projects
Ability to liaise with clients across a range of disciplines including
environment, water and waste management
Experience in mine closure including the development of mine closure plans,
cost estimating and cover designs for waste facilities
Ability to supervise and lead in a small team environment
Strong knowledge of geochemical aspects relating to acid mine drainage and
solutions for management of ARD waste rock facilities
Sound knowledge of mining environmental requirements, permitting and
development of environmental plans for clients
Modelling experience desirable
Experience with MS-office suite and MS project
Excellent report-writing and communication skills
