Sr/ Tailings Geotechnical Engineer

Position Summary:
Sr/ Tailings Geotechnical Engineer works in the Vancouver, Canada office to focus on
mine tailings and waste rock disposal, and foundation engineering. We are
looking for technical leaders who have experience working in multi-disciplinary
project teams, managing projects, mentoring and training
staff, sustaining excellent client relationships and further developing the
business. In addition, the Sr/ Tailings Geotechnical Engineer will support to the
company's Mining Environmental Group's across Canada, South Pacific & Asia Pacific
regions.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related Civil/Geotechnical fields, Masters is an
asset
Be registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in British
Columbia
17 years of relevant experience in either: earth dams, water management, tailings and waste rock
geologic mapping and terrain hazard analysis rock mechanics and pit slopes heavy industrial and/or
bridge foundations arctic and tropical engineering highways and ports ground improvement for seismic upgrades
Be proficient with engineering modeling programs, site investigations and
characterization, slope stability and seepage analytical software
Have experience in geotechnical exploration programs and earthworks projects
Have excellent contract administration and project management skills
Have the ability to lead technical teams and provide project strategy and
direction to your team and client
Have a record of excellent project management on projects of varied scopes
Have excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication
skills in English, and the ability to work with and lead a team of
professionals. Bilingual (particularly French or Spanish) would be an asset
Enjoy the opportunity and have the ability to supervise, train and mentor
junior staff
Sustain client relationships and develop new business
Be available to travel domestically and internationally, occasionally in
remote and varying environments
