Sr Drilling / Completions Manager
Houston, TX
Drilling and Completions Department Position Overview:
The position is responsible to provide technical support to the
operating companies worldwide in well completions. Travel required
in this role can start at 15% and can be as much as 35% per year.
Basic Responsibilities include:
-Serve as a lead manager for all drilling completion design projects.
-Provide Completion Project support to operating companies and acts
as the completions instructor / assistance as required working as
operating company Engineer
-Develop basis of design /completion procedures/ alternatives/
products/services internally or through leveraged agreements as
appropriate / new technology by networking with OpCos, other
operators and equipment providers
-Coordinate the efforts internal / external personnel in the design
/ planning / equipment and material selection and qualification
(HTHP, Deepwater, etc)
-Perform nodal analysis / Prepare equipment technical specifications
-Work as a second completion engineer on selected projects
-Completion Design and Hardware Specifications
-Perform reliability, availability, maintainability, assessments on a
project level (utilizing industry knowledge and company data).
-Apply best practices and completion competency to alternative selection.
-Work with joint industry projects to leverage technology development.
-Mentoring & Personal Development / mentors Operating Company
engineers and new hires
-Self assessment and acquisition of training needs.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications & Requirements :
-Bachelors Degree ,petroleum, mechanical or chemical engineering.
-7 years (minimum) of related experience
-Horizontal / ML well bore design, smart well completions, completion
equipment
selection, reliability, well test equipment selection, material and tubular
design experience.
-Well site drilling, completion and/or remedial operations required.
-Able to design and plan early stages of well completions, including,
tubular design and materials selection.
-Travel to other Operating Company locations to perform studies with project
teams in support of field development. Travel may be for extended periods
of up to a month or more, averaging 18% per year
Additional/ Plus/Preferred Qualifications :
-Masters Degree in petroleum, mechanical or chemical engineering is
preferred.
-Minimum of 12 years of related experience
-Deepwater/HTHP well completion experience is a plus.
-Production engineering experience is desirable.
-Integration of equipment, wellhead/subsea tree interface is a plus.
