Senior Research Engineer
Houston,TX
Position will include working with a professional engineering
team of materials and corrosion specialists on engineering,
failure analysis, and applied research projects for client companies
in the petroleum, petrochemical, transportation, and aerospace sector.
Basic Responsibilities
-Liaison with clients to assess their corrosion testing needs and write a
proposal to perform corrosion testing
-Technical oversight of projects involving lab testing and evaluation
including coordinating with technical staff
-Review and evaluate project data, summarize and write a report based on the
results of the program Most Frequent Contacts External
Process and petroleum industry customers, trade groups (NACE, API, MTI,
etc)
Internal Corrosion Consulting Engineering, IT Services, Lab Technicians
-Responsible for performing corrosion testing, electrochemical testing,
mechanical
testing, and metallography in the petroleum and process industry.
-Uses technical oversight of corrosion testing in the lab, coordinate tests
with
technical staff, review and interpret data, project reporting
Qualifications: Basic Minimum Requirements
-BS/ Master's Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Corrosion
Science or related field
Overall Experience of 7 years (minimum) with the following:
Client Liaison experience /Ability to work with clients to design
a testing, evaluation or consulting program based on their corrosion
needs/ Project Management methodology experience
-Commercial research and engineering involving corrosion prevention,
materials selection and metallurgical processing preferably in the
oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 5 years experience will be in project management/supervisor/
lead roles
- Excellent technical writing skills.
-Ability to work in a team environment.
- Handle tasks with multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills.
-10% Travel
