The Directorof Procurement reports to, Sr. Director; Global Procurement The Director of Procurement directs a team of site senior sourcing managers covering MM in spending. This is a highly visible leadership role with engagement with senior leaders in all business areas to implement and drive company's procurement initiatives and policies in order to meet company' s operational and financial goals. Director of Procurement work's closely with company leaders and executives to identify, direct and lead cross functional teams to deliver value from key spend areas, drive cost savings initiatives and programs, implement effective category strategies, and
ensure effective Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
The Director of Procurement will be responsible for executing industry-leading enterprise-wide Procurement strategies and technologies to deliver against company's business goals, with the
objective of maximizing the value delivered to company through 3rd party expenditures. He or she will be a resource on site at company's California office and will have management responsibility and accountability for the Procurement teams at the four California sites in the Bay Area, Central through to Southern California as well as matrixed responsibility for the Asian site. He or she will manage and lead the strategic sourcing and procurement for an assigned portfolio of spend categories spanning the full company network, working cross functionally with key stakeholders / Understanding and developing the business requirements associated with make vs buy decisions, developing, implementing
and maintaining sourcing strategies, and managing 3rd party Supplier relationships and performance. A key aspect of this position will be the effective engagement with the Corporate and Site business leadership teams / liaise with other Global Procurement leaders to ensure the effective implementation of cross-network sourcing and procurement initiatives.
Qualifications: Experience/Education/Skills
Masters Degree, relevant.
* 15+ years of management experience with increasing responsibilities in
Procurement, Finance, Accounting and or Supply Chain.
* Biotech pharmaceutical with cGMP experience essential.
* CPM or equivalent.
Relative Experience 10 years minimum :
* Thorough knowledge of the business, markets and industry of manufacturing
operations, including well-developed technical and commercial knowledge of
the products with emphasis on products related to manufacturing, facilities
