Director of Development in the Process Research & Development
Department is responsible for leading the departments scientists,
engineers, and research associates/ focus of the department is support
of early-stage pNMEs development / in-sourcing protein molecules
depending on capacity/ expected to possess strong leadership
skills, and a broad technical expertise in the areas of
Cell Culture, Purification, Formulation / Analytical Chemistry
of recombinant proteins / individual, along with other Process
R&D Directors based in the Bay Area Office will share decision
making for the overall early stage-development portfolio, and ensure that
the Company's early-stage productline is effectively delivered on time and
in
alignment with overall Process R&D mission and goals/oversight of
technology transfer processes to various clinical mfg facilities at
Vista and Bay Area, California Sites / close collaboration and
alignment with Bay Area Process R&D on various innovation
and technology development activities to advance development
efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications: Experience/Skills/Education
This position requires a PhD (candidates without a PhD with other
compensatory experience will be considered) in a relevant scientific or
engineering area, combined with at least fifteen (15 ) years in the
bio/pharmaceutical industry, and nine (9) years proven leadership managing a
teams in a development environment. Eligible candidates must also have
demonstrated ability to drive quality and productivity improvements, and
have a credible, highly regarded reputation in the biopharmaceutical
industry.
Additional Detailed Requirements:
As part of the Process R&D leadership team, reporting directly to
the Senior Director of Process Research &Development
Operations the individual will need demonstrated
abilities to lead effective teams, develop staff, lead and
implement change & manage conflict, ensure the delivery
of unparalleled results / lead cross-functional teams,/ leadership
talents must include the ability to influence, motivate, and energize
individuals at all levels, with diverse backgrounds, toward meeting
a shared vision within a customer-focused environment
