Sr Modeler, Geo-Chemist (aqueous)
New Mexico (south east)
The position is for an experienced Sr Modeler - Geo-Chemicals with
a specialty in experimental aqueous geochemistry is needed to support
analyses of the disposal room chemistry . Develop and implement
experimental programs in support of efforts to represent the long term
geochemical behavior of the nuclear waste plant/ disposal rooms and model
experimental results using codes like EQ3/3 and FMT.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
-A MS/PhD in Geochemistry or a closely related discipline. A Bachelor's
in engineering or a related field (geochemistry, chemistry, or chemical
engineering).
- 7 years experience in aqueous geochemistry in brines and
geochemical modeling.
-7 years experience in Performance Assessment to understand regulatory
requirements related to nuclear waste repositories.
-Must have demonstrated excellence in the technical field, excellent oral
and
written communications skills, and demonstrated interpersonal skills
including teamwork and communication.
-Requires extensive experience with geochemistry in brines, geochemical
modeling with EQ3/6, experience producing results in a highly controlled
QA environment and with repository sciences, and experience working
with governmental organizations such as DOE, EPA, DOD, etc. are
desired but not necessarily required.
-Must reside in Carlsbad, New Mexico or have the ability to relocate there.
-U.S. Citizenship, Required.
