Project Manager Design Packaging
Columbus,OH
Position is responsible to provide technical knowledge
and leadership to identify and implement packaging programs for Abbott
Nutrition. Must be able to apply advanced methods and techniques to the
design of new packaging materials and structures. Programs will range from
development of new concepts through optimization of existing packaging for
nutritional products. Effective ability to collaborate across divisional and
regional boundaries is critical to be successful. Primary job
responsibilities include: identification and development of new packaging
structures from concept through commercialization; identify and implement
cost optimized opportunities with existing packaging; provide technical
expertise on a wide range of packaging issues; apply leadership skills to
manage projects; and establish organizational alignment through effective
communication.
This position functionally resides is the Global Packaging Technology group,
reporting directly to the Manager of Global Packaging Innovation. The
Package Innovation group is responsible to identify and implement new and
optimized packaging concepts that support growth of branded products for
Abbott Nutrition. This group must coordinate multiple programs and be
effective in working within a multidisciplinary environment. Must have
ability to interface
directly with brand Marketing functions and serve as a direct link for
Supply Chain capabilities. In addition, must effectively work with external
partners that supply packaging commodities.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
-8-10 years experience in technical package engineering position
or related field.
-Successful candidate must demonstrate the following technical & leadership
skills:
- Thorough technical knowledge of a wide range of packaging materials,
structures, and
manufacturing processes
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple global projects
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively interface with broad global cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently
- Effective problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Requirements Bachelor of Science in Packaging, Engineering, or
related technical field.
Percentage of Travel 25%
