Global QA Director- Pediatric Division
Columbus,OH
Has the broad objective of assuring that Global Pediatric business
strategies are developed and executed assuring the quality of design
of Company Nutrition Infant Formula and Pediatric Products aren't
comprising annual sales. The successful incumbent works across the
organization to assure that product, process and package concepts,
designs and marketing/promotional programs provide necessary
safety, efficacy, regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction
while balancing the need for speed to market for new innovations as
well as cost effectiveness.
Details:
-assessments of the quality related impact of business
opportunities and issues would hamper company's growth
-appropriately identify, assess and mitigate risks in the design,
manufacture, distribution and marketing of highly regulated,
sole source, infant formula products
-prevent risk business interruptions with possible multi-product/multi-batch
recalls/class-action product liability claims.
-implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
-Provide credible counsel to commercial leadership to assure that
potential Quality Assurance issues are identified and the risk
characterized
appropriately in the development of business strategies
-Hire, train and manage senior managers and their staff of Project
Leaders that act as members for global innovation projects
-Provide direction regarding standards and prioritization of
competing interests.
-Provide QA Leadership to define/communicate/implement quality
standards in the areas of commodity qualification/acceptance;
plant/equipment design, installation/start-up; product, package/process
design/ manufacture/distribution/marketing.
-In consultation with Regulatory Affairs, assure development,
manufacturing/QA and distribution processes comply with applicable
Regulations
- Works under the general guidance of Company's Vice President of Quality
Assurance, this position is responsible for assuring that Global Pediatric
business strategies are developed and executed
-Conversely, the inability to appropriately identify, assess and
mitigate risks in the design, manufacture, distribution and marketing of
highly regulated, sole source, infant formula products can result in
world-wide business interruptions, multi-product/multi-batch recalls and
class-action product liability claims.
-respond to business opportunities and the effectiveness/efficiency of
work processes for all areas in QA as well as R&D, Supply Chain
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements
Bachelors' degree in Food Science, Chemistry,
Biology, Engineering, or other technical discipline
*** 10 or more years with the follwing:
-Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards/ requirements for
infant formula and nutritionals.
-have demonstrated effective leadership and managerial skills/exhibited
sound technical judgement.
-experience working collaboratively with commercial, development
and supply chain executive leadership
-Able to anticipate, characterize/articulate the risks associated
with potential quality issues.
-able to manage in an environment with changing priorities /make
appropriate risk based decisions in the face of uncertainty.
-skills and proficiency in understanding, organizing
and presenting complex technical information to upper
level management
-business experience and technical/manufacturing knowledge
to meaningfully engage commercial, development and supply
chain functions to influence proposed strategies, negotiate
appropriate quality standards and assure that product design
criteria
-provides necessary safety, efficacy, regulatory compliance
-requires a broad understanding of regulatory requirements, quality
principles, technical aspects of global infant formula marketing issues
- requires a broad understanding of product, process,
package design/manufacture/distribution practices.
-Travel 10-15%
Preferred/Additional/Pluses:
Masters' degree preferred but not required. PHD not required.
