Sr Environmental Remediation Specialist

Manage remediation projects, including budgeting, contractor
selection, agency interaction, project strategy and direction. Additionally
provide emergency response and related service as necessary for systems
failures. Responsible for environmental clean-up and remediation involving
soil and ground water contamination on a project basis for pipeline
systems etc. Develops scope of work necessary to resolve the problem and cost
estimates for same. Identifies and selects contractors to implement the
work. Communicates with the appropriate governmental agencies. Familiar
with all appropriate federal, state and local regulations.
Provides emergency response and related services as necessary for
spill/leak situation pipeline system. Analyzes situation and directs a
course of action for clean-up and/or remediation or manages same on site.
Develops the most cost effective methods for environmental
remediation. Determines schedules for each project and coordinates
implementation with all participating parties. Communicates as necessary to
relevant stakeholders. Performs special projects relating to regulatory analysis of
environmental matters such as evaluating and disposing of contaminated soil
and/or water which may have been generated during field operations.
Interacts with regulatory agencies regarding matters related to site
investigations, remediation, and monitoring.
Management of all aspects of a remediation projects including scope,
schedule, budget preparation, project direction and status reports for
management. Provide project budget and scope forecasts and variance explanations
to management for review and discussion.
Performs limited site investigations which include the drilling of
soil borings and the collection of soil, water and product samples.
Conducts facility audits prior to utilizing the services of a new
company or contractor. Participation in Technical Work Groups for
appropriate discipline. Performs other related duties as assigned.
