Description: Sr Process Engineer, Planning & Optimization
Develop monthly refinery operation crude oil and refined product plan.
Conduct planning projects in refinery and petrochemical processing. These
projects study and highlight fundamental technical and economic driving
forces and how they relate to business unit objectives.
Evaluate refining and supply projects and compare the economics of
alternative processes and processing schemes.
Determine system-wide or regional impact of proposed environmental
regulations and identify optimum process modifications for compliance.
Analyze competitor strengths/weaknesses and opportunities.
Apply decision and risk analysis to project economics and for strategy
development.
Perform process planning studies for downstream development to support crude
acquisition or valuation.
Develop and support planning tools that optimize refinery and chemical plant
operations.
This includes linear and non-linear optimization tools as well as
spreadsheet models.
Advocate planning and modeling approaches that optimize supply chain
efficiency.
Identify and advocate new process technologies that add value.
Provide training in refinery process planning.
Qualifications: Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.
Experience in Refinery or Petrochemical Plant process
with experience in an oils planning function.
Supply chain experience is also desirable.
Proven track record in planning of crude, procurement, and economic
valuation of crude business.
Familiarity with refinery decision software, spreadsheets and
presentation software is highly desired.
Demonstrated ability to frame planning issues and resolve them in the most
effective way.
Demonstrated ability to model fundamental process knowledge and apply it to
simulation and optimization.
Modeling/PC Skills
Familiarity with refinery LP's.
Work experience developing and supporting computer-based decision-making
tools is highly desirable.
Develops and maintains effective business relationships with customers and
suppliers.
