Description: Senior Environmental Engineer (Refining) Location: US-NEastern Salary: Negotiable Maintains internal relationships with staff, shift supervisors and other operations personnel, maintenance personnel, and I&E technicians. Establishes external relationships with regulatory agencies during field inspections and environmental incidents, negotiating with agencies, and managing consulting and testing teams for special projects. Provides environmental engineering support for environmental projects and to ensure environmental compliance. Provides guidance and interpretation of environmental laws regarding waste. Helps develop environmental procedures/guidelines for waste compliance. Helps establish EMS for waste compliance. Participates in the training of employees and contractors in required environmental procedures/guidelines. Ensures the handling and disposal of hazardous and solid waste are accomplished within the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and State rules and regulations. Requirements 8+ years of environmental, refining, petrochemical experience involving waste is required. Working knowledge of environmental analytical methods. Strong interpersonal skills and professional attitude to effectively interact with internal and external contacts. Capable of taking initiative and making decisions. Demonstrated leadership. Effective and efficient PC skills to include Excel, Access and Word applications.
