Description: Manager Health & Safety Los Angeles, CA Responsible for overseeing refinery programs for ensuring the health and safety of employees, contractors and the public. 1) Utilizes systematic approach to health & safety management to ensure continuous performance as well as Group compliance. Develops and implements integrated programs. Interacts with corporate HSE staff to ensure alignment with requirements and development of standards and policies as needed. 2) Monitors compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Oversees evaluation of workplace hazards (chemical and physical) as well as abatement process. Maintains current compliance programs for PSM, RMP, etc. 3) Maintains close working relationship with internal customers and other stakeholders to ensure proper support and expectations are met. Interfaces with local and state official on issues of compliance as well as rulemaking. 4) Assists refinery in identification of loss scenarios and developing priorities as well as response plans. 5) In accordance with corporate HR policies and procedures, carries out managerial responsibilities. Sets clear, well-defined outcomes. Delegates responsibilities based on ability and potential. Appraises performance. Rewards employees and, as necessary, implements progressive disciplinary policy fairly and consistently. 6) Participates in development and management of overall refinery HSE budget.
Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in health, safety or other technical discipline. Minimum of 12 years health and safety experience including supervisory / managerial role.
