Description: Distillation Separation Sr Consultant Engineer, Distillation & Separation San Antonio Distillation/Separation consultant will serve as a subject matter expert and leader, mentor, and change agent. This position will work collaboratively with Refineries to improve yields, increase EDC utilization, reduce operating costs, and develop capital projects. The consultant may be located either within the refinery or at headquarters. Key job responsibilities include: 1) Apply knowledge and expertise to support the Refineries and enable company to build and deliver world-class capability around refining and improve efficiencies of daily operations. Considered resident subject matter expert. Technical consultant to engineering staff; 2) Stays abreast of latest developments within distillation and separation e.g. technology, equipment, systems, etc; 3) Works closely with Refineries to develop and maintain in-depth up-to-date understanding of current state for each refinery. Participates in audits to assess capabilities of each refinery. In consultative role, keeps strengths and weaknesses well understood and in front of Refinery Management; 4) Based on vision articulated by senior refining executives, determines characteristics of desired state of refining with respect to distillation and separation. Conducts gap analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
Qualifications: Requirements: Bachelor\'s degree in a technical field, preferably Chemical Engineering. Minimum 15+ years experience in refining, preferably in multiple refineries or operating companies. Additional technical or business training desirable. Recognized expert in distillation and separation technology; Must be able to work cross functionally.
