Description: Renewable Energy Consultant Kansas, Overland Park Support the performance of renewable energy projects covering multiple technologies. Areas of emphasis may include: multidisciplinary renewable energy portfolios including biomass, wind, geothermal, solar, hydro, and ocean technologies. The position will involve a wide variety of diverse assignments including: resource assessment, due diligence, siting, feasibility studies, new technology evaluation, project proposal evaluation, market assessments, strategic planning, policy evaluation, and pro forma economic analysis. The position will entail interaction with clients including: utilities, energy project developers, financial institutions, energy end-users, investors, government agencies, and other organizations. Essential responsibilities will include: lead and contribute to authorship of reports, studies, and proposals. Develop technical and economic analyses of projects and technologies using models built in Microsoft Excel. Coordinate work with others in multidisciplinary teams. Identify and understand client issues, and work collaboratively to develop and communicate creative solutions. Assess regulatory, technical, and market issues to evaluate competitive dynamics of various resource options. Manage data and prepare periodic analysis updates. Perform research including literature reviews, telephone calls, and internet-based research. The position would include exposure to all renewable technologies: biomass, wind, geothermal, solar, hydro, etc.
Qualifications: Engineering, Science, Business, or related degree from an ABET accredited university. Masters degree or MBA would be beneficial. Some course work on energy systems, specifically some knowledge of renewable energy technologies preferred. Renewable Energy project experiece is a plus.
