Professional with knowledge and experience of USA
power markets to lead the analysis of structured transactions and to support
portfolio management decisions in the renewable energy sector.
Work closely with and report to the Structuring & Portfolio Manager
Responsibilities and Duties:
. Understand, analyze and communicate the risk and return
relationships within an expanding national wind energy portfolio context
. Recommend strategies to manage risk and enhance returns
. Structure complex energy transactions across different US regulated
and unregulated markets.
. Incorporate probabilistic techniques, such as Monte Carlo
simulations, within an analysis to quantify uncertainty and risk factors in
non-standard commodity transactions such as: wind energy auctions,
congestions swaps, wind volumetric hedges, financial look-alike products
and other new products that will need to be created for the wind energy
industry
. Design and implement a portfolio management tool that will allow the
company to minimize the value at risk of a growing wind energy portfolio
. Continuously read industry publications to identify transactional
opportunities and determine their impact on long term commercial plan,
position management and evaluation techniques
. Effectively communicate complex recommendations to a variety of
audiences including senior management
Qualifications:
. An undergraduate degree in mathematics or engineering
. An MS in financial mathematics or closely related quantitative field
preferred
. Must have proven track record of structuring and closing large
complex energy transactions
.3+ years of complex energy modeling experience.
. Must have MATLAB or similar statistical software programming
expertise
. Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills
. Out-of-the-box thinking while maintaining a pragmatic approach to
problems
