Sr. Calibration Scientist - Meteorologist (Engineer)
Austin, TX
The Position joins the professional team in the calibration department.
Basic Responsibilities :
o Develop manual and automated measurement calibration procedures
including supporting documentation, software, and uncertainty analyses.
o Maintain calibration standards and measuring systems used by the company.
o Calibrate and certify standards and instruments for internal and external
customers
o Execute tests and prepare certificates of calibration and/or other reports
concerning the metrological characteristics of the equipment.
o Contribute to solve of technical measurement problems.
o Performs measurement services for other departments within the
corporation.
o Provides metrology consulting services and technical presentations to
other
groups within the corporation.
o Work closely with new product development teams to insure that products
can
be calibrated and supported.
o Participates in the activities of metrology related organizations;
including
conferences , etc...
o Support corporate calibration sop's and collaborate in its improvement and
development
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
o BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related
science
o Minimum 4 years related work experience as a professional meteorologist,
engineer or scientist
o Strong understanding of basic electronics and electrical engineering
principles
o Prefer prior test engineering experience
o Excellent communication skills, a strong technical background
o Ability to work independently as well as within a team
o Prior calibration software knowledge
o Prefer previous software development experience
