Senior Staff Engineer/ScientistPosition Description
· Contribute to the design and development of high power laser diode
products for the OEM and commercial markets
· Evaluate, propose, prototype, validate and implement process and
design solutions for new products with performance specifications which
include thermal, optical, mechanical stability, reliability, cost and
manufacturability
· Design of mechanical sub-components considering product level
reliability and quality systems in an ISO environment
· Optimization of key assembly processes including die attach,
welding, soldering and epoxy based processes
· Effectively communicate in design reviews, data presentations,
status and progress meetings, and creating process and design documentation
in a cross functional team environment
Qualifications:
· Advanced skills and experience in the design of reliable photonics
products
· Experienced in thermal management solutions for III-V devices,
including material sets, assembly technologies, passive and active cooling
· Experienced with DFM and DFR tools including six sigma and DOE
methodology and data analysis
· Familiar with photonic hermetic packaging technology, including
fiber handling, sealing techniques and leak measurement, power measurement
· Experience with FEA packages, including COSMOS or ANSYS, for
modeling stress and thermal profiles highly desired
· Experience with Solidworks or other CAD tools desired
Job Requirements : Education and Experience
· BS (advanced degree strongly preferred, PhD preferred)
· 10 yrs. (including graduate-level training)
