Senior Reliability Engineer
Position Description
Responsibilities include evaluating (from a reliability stand-point) the
materials, properties, and techniques used to produce high power laser
diodes; designing and conducting reliability tests for qualification of new
products and validation of released products and conducting analysis to
predict life times, MTTF, and warranty return rates and failure analsis of
test parts. The position requires using failure modes and effects
criticality analysis (FMECA) to identify product and process weakness.
Reporting results and work with team to recommend, test and qualify
solutions to address those weaknesses is essential. This position is also
responsible for improving reliability test capabilities and methods and
supporting aspects of the Quality Management System through internal audit,
identification of corrective and preventive actions, and through active
participation in our business processes.
Primary Responsibilities
· Reliability Engineering Science including use of reliability
modeling software tools like Alta
· Laser diode knowledge at semiconductor and optical packaging level
·
Qualifications: Hands on knowledge of Electronics, Electro-Optics, Test Equipment,
and Computers
· Six Sigma, FMECA, FA,and DOE Techniques
· Quality System Knowledge with ASQCRE a plus
· Critical thinking, with a knack for mathematical modeling
· Identification of appropriate acceleration techniques for rapid
qualification.
· Strong project management skills and execution coupled with a
detailed orientation
· Mentoring and leading others
· High integrity, with a strong work ethic
Job Requirements : Education and Experience
BSOE or BSEE with Masters Degree Preferred
The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years experience with some direct
reliability engineering experience in the following disciplines:
· Qualification of new products or process changes to existing
products
· Failure analysis of devices from test and of customer returns
· Fulfill role as team member on PLP projects, and in support of
sustaining engineering activities
· Mentoring others in the workgroup
· Reliability capability improvements
