Description: Senior Business Systems Analyst
Providence, RI
Business Analyst to work to gather and document business and system
requirements
- Work closely with the operations and staff personnel in
anticipating, understanding, validating, coordinating, documenting, and
implementing all aspects of their systems needs.
- Elicit, document, and manage business requirements and rules, which
may include writing use cases and other requirement documents for
application development.
- Serve as a liaison between the Information Services organization and
the stakeholders in the business organization.
- Document the gaps between the current state and the future state.
- Work closely with the other information services technical staff
(design, development, quality assurance, infrastructure management, release
management) to ensure that developed functionality meets requirements.
- Conduct requirements reviews with key stakeholders including
business and developers.
- Assume the responsibilities of project manager including prepare and
manage project plans as well as report status for projects with significant
scope and complexity.
- Develop an understanding of other IS departments and systems to
ensure that Program & Policy Systems initiatives do not conflict or overlap
with other efforts.
- Have the ability to motivate and coach other Business Analysts
through complex and challenging assignments
Qualifications: 8+ years of business systems analysis experience including project
management
experience.
- An ability to describe business objectives or business problems and
relate those to business processes. Able to develop and/or describe
solutions to achieve business objectives or resolve business problems to a
variety of audiences with appropriate detail and context.
- Strong skills using Microsoft Office tools to produce documentation.
- Advanced skills using MS Projects, Visio, Clearquest, SQL, knowledge
of SDLC and SOA concepts.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical
staff including ability to convey complex ideas both verbally and in written
form.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems nad technologies and their
relationship to business functions, practices, and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal skills and ability to solicit input.
- Facilitation and meeting management skills.
- Knowledge of project management practices.
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience creating requirements and analysis documentation such as
use cases, process diagrams, relationship entities, and context models to
support project objectives.
- Some systems development experience.
- Some experience developing QA Test scripts and testing experience.
