Description for Assistant IT Architect:

The successful Assistant IT Architect candidate will be a smart, creative and
an entrepreneurial leader. The Assistant IT Architect shares the same ideals and
passion for technology, open source and knowledge as the company.
The Assistant IT Architect is responsible to lead a systems operations team.
The systems operations team is collaborative, supportive, relaxed and motivated. The
company has a belief in clean,elegant, innovative technical architecture and
the successful candidate will be an experienced computer technologist who will also be a
strong leader ,who will foster an innovative, creative and collaborative
team while at the same time, will help steer the technical future of the
company. This individual wiil bridge a development team with the company's
systems team with the primary focus of making sure the production
environment is stable, fast and resilient. The ideal candidate will have a
background in a web startup and feels equally comfortable diving into
writing code as well as hands on systems administration work.

The Assistant IT Architect Basic responsibilities include:

*Help to manage a large technology team to plan, design and build a highly scalable and robust technical web infrastructure
* Assist to manage the production environment; ensuring it is online and running quickly and smoothly
* Work with the Tech leadership team to help drive a technical roadmap and future strategy
* Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to a team of IT engineers/systems administrators
* Manage the growth of the department, including hiring and organizing for maximum effectiveness of the reporting team
* Own the software and hardware infrastructure; be prepared to suggest and sell improvements and own the responsibility of getting them done
* Manage the MySQL infrastructure planning for DR and performance as well as scalability
