Principal Applications Developer
Corporate internet/extranet Division
Worchester, Mass
Principal Applications Developer to design, develop,
unit-test and implement solutions using J2EE technologies
(EJB, JSP, servlets, etc.) for the company and related
internet/extranet sites. Developer will apply complex technical
approaches to solving business problems.Responsibilities
within the 5-person development organization include
gathering & analyzing requirements, formulating
solutions in conjunction with other teams and ensuring the
successful roll-out of those solutions to our expansive
web application platform. The application development
organization values team members that have an appetite
for continuous improvement and learning. Reading,
research and training are constantly encouraged, as are
knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
12 yrs Applications Developement & related
experience. BS or MS (degree relevant.
Applicants should be proficient in J2EE-based
object-oriented development and design.
A demonstrated ability to apply complex technical
approaches to solving business problems is a must.
Working knowledge of XHTML/CSS and popular
Java-based web application frameworks such as
Spring MVC or Struts is essential. Experience
working with Java data-access & ORM frameworks
(e.g. JPA, Hibernate, iBatis) is also highly desired,
as is familiarity with Ajax, XML, messaging, UML, web
services, SQL, JUnit and database schema design.
Skills
A demonstrated ability to learn and understand
complex technical approaches to business problems.
Proficiency in J2EE-based object-oriented
development and design. Working knowledge of
XHTML/CSS and popular Java-based web application
frameworks (e.g. Spring MVC, Struts) and servers
(e.g. Weblogic, Tomcat). Familiarity with JavaScript,
DHTML and Ajax a plus. Understanding of transaction
management, asynchronous messaging, XML, SQL
and database schema design also preferred.
Experience working with Java data-access &
ORM frameworks (e.g. JPA, Hibernate, iBatis)
