Technical Applications Manager
Sunnyvale, CA
Position joins a professional team which builds systems that support the
information needs of a wide range of business users throughout the company.
The position will lead the team and will work closely with users to
understand
requirements, develop technical designs, implement and extend web
applications, and oversee the full application life-cycle. An ideal
candidate
demonstrates independence, creativity and initiative and the ability to
master
a solid understanding of the company's architecture and its business goals.
Description of Responsibilities :
-Provides a breadth & depth of understanding system integration and
cost / time impact / Manages a professional IT engineering team of
software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
-Document design as needed for internal design reviews and coding
-Ability to form strong cross-functional relationships to provide the
ability
to lead a sizable project team, taking the project from start to finish.
-Provides excellent influential communication skills and business acumen to
both an arbitrator and advocate for technical issues / Works closely with
QA to define test plans and test cases for applications
-Ability to be a key influence to decision-making and to leadership of,
multiple
project teams he/she will have a critical impact on the company's future
direction & success/ Works with product managers and/or customers to
understand feature requirements/ drive their detailed definition
-Demonstrates management capabilities to provide guidance and mentorship
of others / willingness to share knowledge with more junior team members
via a formal mentoring relationship, reviewing code, reviewing design
docs,
giving technical talks, teaching classes or as a consultant on projects.
-Interfaces with internal groups, partners and employees.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications & Requirements :
- BS/MS Degree computer science or engineering
-12 years related experience :
- Must have expert knowledge in multiple computer
science disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage 20 technical software engineers with
ability to motivate and demonstrate technical leadership
-Strong hands-on experience is a must; some coding is expected.
-Ability to manage complex technical projects / must be an expert
problem solver and technical innovator
-Demonstrated experience of delivering on commitments to clients.
-Able to read / modify Java code
-Prior start-up experience( preferred) /demonstrate the ability to
adapt to change and stressful situations
