Description: Sr Electrical Engineer California, Pleasanton Electrical engineering design for electric utility related high voltage transmission line and substation projects. Experience should include at least five years as a project/lead engineer doing engineering, detailed physical design, & technical direction and oversight of projects teams for substation or overhead and underground projects through 500kV. Candidates should have working knowledge of electrical substation facilities. The person hired will be responsible interface with clients on design, operations and construction. -Develop project design criteria and communicate it to the project team. -Develops, plans, coordinates and directs the engineering work for a major project, or several smaller, but complex projects. This includes work assignments, scheduling and review -Develops or evaluates plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the engineering effort. Develops new or improved techniques or procedures for application in unique engineering -Coordinates the design of projects -Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. -Champions continuous improvement efforts. Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. -Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities. -Provide direction to the project team. -Supervises a project engineering staff consisting of subordinate engineers, designers, drafters and other assigned support personnel. This includes staffing, work assignments, scheduling, personnel appraisals and work reviews. -Assist Project Management with estimating project costs for engineering and construction and ensuring compliance with schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements. -Candidates must be able to communicate and work well with all clients, vendors and staff and able to work in a diverse cultural environment.
Qualifications: BS or MS in electrical engineering PE license required 10+ years electrical engineering experience including detailed substation or transmission line structure configuration and design, and material specification exp.
