Description: Utility Regulatory Expert ( Utility Regulations )
Washington D.C. metro area.
Work directly with regulatory decision makers to design and carry out
research projects addressing on or more utility industries (gas,
electricity, telecommunications, water industries)
Requires expert knowledge in one or more regulated utility industry.
You will evidence this by reference to publications or testimony,
demonstrating
fluency in the utility industry's history in terms of market structure,
economic and engineering developments
and legislative and regulatory intervention.
You will have knowledge/experience of the challenges facing state and
federal regulators and
regulatory policy and process, including:
- techniques for regulating companies in the context of a franchised
monopoly
- methods for determining the appropriateness of competition in relevant
geographic and product markets.
- the steps necessary to accommodate and ensure effective competition.
Degree or other certification in economics, accounting, finance,
engineering, law or public management
or related field. Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
